Choosing a pre-purchase inspection: what to compare before you book

Pre-purchase inspection services are built for different needs. Some are designed around local access and direct contact with the person who looked at the vehicle. Others are designed around nationwide coverage, so a buyer can arrange an inspection far from home. Timing, scope, and follow-up access differ as well. None of these designs is automatically right or wrong. The useful question is which one matches the purchase in front of you, and the four points below are the ones worth checking before you book anything.

Who performs the inspection?

Precision Vehicle Services is owner-operated. Chad personally performs and reviews appointments, so the person who inspects the vehicle is the person who writes the report and the person you speak with afterward. When you are comparing options, it is reasonable to ask any provider who will actually be on site and who you can contact once the report is delivered.

Know the inspection scope

Precision Vehicle Services provides a non-invasive mobile evaluation. We do not lift or jack the vehicle, remove wheels or panels, or disassemble components. Road tests occur only when they are safe, legal, insured, and authorized by the owner or seller.

Scope is the single most useful thing to confirm in advance, because it determines what can and cannot be observed during the appointment. Knowing the boundaries before the visit keeps expectations accurate on both sides.

Know what the report includes

Our customers receive a digital report with documented findings, relevant photos, scan information where the vehicle supports it, the important limitations that applied to that appointment, and practical next steps. A report describes what was observed on the inspection date. It does not promise a particular finding, a particular diagnosis, or a particular outcome, and no inspection can guarantee future reliability.

Choose the service that fits your purchase

A local, owner-operated inspection may be a good fit for buyers in Northern Kentucky, Greater Cincinnati, and Southeast Indiana who want direct access to the person who inspected the vehicle, both during the appointment and afterward.
