Inspection scope

What a mobile inspection includes

Our mobile inspections are non-invasive and performed at the vehicle's location. We do not jack or lift the vehicle, place it on ramps, remove wheels or protective panels, or disassemble components.

This service is not a warranty, state safety inspection, emissions certification, title verification, guarantee of future reliability, or guarantee that every defect will be discovered.

A mobile inspection is not:

  • A warranty
  • A state safety inspection
  • An emissions certification
  • A guarantee of future reliability
  • A substitute for specialized testing when additional testing is recommended

Common questions

Do I need to be present?

For diagnostics at your home or workplace, someone must provide vehicle access and describe the concern. For a pre-purchase inspection, the buyer does not ordinarily need to attend, but the buyer must arrange permission and access with the owner, seller, or dealership.

Do you lift the vehicle or remove the wheels?

No. Standard mobile inspections are non-invasive. We do not jack or lift the vehicle, place it on ramps, remove wheels or underbody panels, or disassemble components.

What parts of the underbody can you inspect?

We inspect areas that are visible and reasonably accessible from ground level using lighting, photographs, mirrors, or cameras when practical. Vehicle height, underbody panels, weather, surface conditions, vehicle condition, and seller restrictions may limit visibility.

Is a mobile inspection the same as a shop inspection on a lift?

No. A mobile inspection provides a broad independent evaluation without disassembly at the vehicle's location. A shop inspection on a lift provides better access to some brakes, steering, suspension, frame, and underbody components. When better access is needed, the report may recommend further evaluation at an appropriate repair facility.

Can you determine whether every steering or suspension component is good?

No. We evaluate visible condition, tire-wear patterns, vehicle stance, noises, steering feel, ride behavior, braking behavior, warning messages, and accessible components. Confirming looseness, hidden wear, or internal damage in some components requires lifting the vehicle or performing shop-based testing.

What if the seller refuses part of the inspection or a road test?

We will perform only the checks that are safely, legally, and voluntarily permitted. Any restriction will be documented so the buyer can consider the resulting uncertainty before purchasing.

Do you guarantee a diagnosis?

No. Diagnostic services provide a defined period of professional testing and evaluation. When the cause can be confirmed, it will be documented. When it cannot, the report will explain the evidence gathered, what remains unconfirmed, and the recommended next step.

What if the concern does not occur during the appointment?

Intermittent problems may not occur during a scheduled visit. We will document available fault codes, history, symptoms, test results, and observations, but we cannot guarantee confirmation of a condition that is not present or reproducible.

What vehicles do you inspect?

We serve most passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks. Diesel, hybrid, electric, exotic, heavily modified, salvage, rebuilt, non-running, collector, and specialty vehicles require prior approval.

Do you perform repairs or sell parts?

No. Precision Vehicle Services currently provides inspections, diagnostics, post-repair verification, repair-estimate second opinions, and technical reporting. We do not currently sell parts or perform customer repairs.

What if I need more diagnostic time?

If additional testing is appropriate and can be performed safely, additional diagnostic time may be separately quoted. Nothing is added without the customer's written approval.

When will I receive my findings?

Findings are typically delivered the same day and no later than the next business day unless additional research or testing is required.

Do you charge sales tax?

Precision Vehicle Services currently provides inspection, diagnostic, second-opinion, and vehicle-consulting services. Any tax legally required for a selected service will be shown before payment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Online bookings are paid by card through the secure payment system. Any approved follow-up invoice is also paid online.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Scheduled mobile appointments and remote consultations: Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment or consultation will be refunded less a $25 cancellation and payment-processing fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours are not eligible for a cash refund; the amount paid may be applied one time toward a rescheduled service completed within 90 days, subject to availability. Missed appointments, failure to provide vehicle access, or failure to provide information reasonably necessary to perform the scheduled service are not eligible for a cash refund; Precision Vehicle Services may, at its discretion, allow a one-time rescheduling credit. If Precision Vehicle Services cancels the service, the customer may choose a full refund or reschedule without a fee. Document-review services (Used-Vehicle Listing Review, Repair Estimate Review) may be canceled for a refund less the $25 cancellation and payment-processing fee until Precision Vehicle Services begins substantive review, research, analysis, or preparation of the written findings; once substantive work begins, amounts attributable to work already performed are nonrefundable. Complete Vehicle Buying Package refunds must deduct the normal standalone price of each component already started or completed; completed consultations, listing reviews, inspection work, findings reviews, and written deliverables are nonrefundable; any unused included Standard Pre-Purchase Inspection follows the normal mobile-service cancellation policy.

Is a Repair Estimate Review a remote diagnosis?

No. A Repair Estimate Review is a remote review of documents and information you supply. It is not a remote diagnosis and does not establish that a recommended repair is necessary or unnecessary. We explain what appears documented, identify unanswered questions, and suggest reasonable next steps. A physical inspection, diagnostic session, teardown, specialty testing, or evaluation by another qualified facility may still be required.

What areas do you serve?

Northern Kentucky, Greater Cincinnati, and Southeast Indiana for on-site services, plus remote consulting customers where appropriate. Availability and any travel charge are confirmed using the vehicle's actual location.

Do you offer remote or non-inspection consulting?

Yes. Our advisory services include remote vehicle selection consultations, used-vehicle listing reviews, repair estimate reviews, and repair-or-replace guidance, plus on-site post-repair verification and private-sale readiness reviews.
